Holistic Healing Is On The Rise!
I was recently talking with a friend of mine about how much I love what I do. I remember a few years ago when I decided to follow my passion and start my path as a Healer. At the time it felt really lonely and going through school and certifications for it was the best thing, because I found like minded souls who also wanted to help others heal and live more fulfilling lives. It truly is a wonderful feeling to see people let go of old beliefs and heal spiritually or physically. When they let me be witness to that, I feel immense love and gratitude. When I first started in this business, using alternative healing was still sorta taboo. Nobody really wanted to trust that this form of healing was working. But that has been changing over the past decade! YAY!
More people are turning to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and in 2015 the alternative and complementary health market was already valued around $40.32 BILLION dollars. It’s said that globally, more than 60% of people uses some form of holistic or alternative care in lieu of traditional medicine. About a third of all Americans seek help for their heal that is not in a conventional Doctors office. And about 5% use CAM solely.
CAM, which includes such practices as yoga, massage, herbalism, meditation, guided imagery, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, Reiki, Energy Healing, has been increasing in popularity for many years. In Alternative medicine a lot of these practices are used in conjunction with traditional methods of medicine.
What is making people turn to CAM?
Well, a lot of it has to do with cost. When people cannot afford health care they are looking for alternatives that they can afford. People are also starting to take notice in how the declining health in our country is due to poor diet and nutrition, so they are wanting a more holistic, and natural, approach to their health.
How Does It Work?
Alternative medicine lies in the delivery of therapy between the practitioner and client. Most CAM theories are delivered through direct contact, like acupuncture, energy healing, massage, chiropractic care, and others.
Direct contact delivery accounted for the major share of market revenue and amounted to over 70% of value. However, this is likely to slightly reduce due to the integration of distant healing technologies and remote therapy delivering which eliminate the need for physical presence of the consumer significantly enhancing the reach of the individual therapy provider.
E-healing is another significant method of treating patients with alternative medicine and works by various technological mediums like telephonic medication, video therapy and instructional documentation etc.
I’m personally really excited to see an increase in people turning to holistic care. It’s so very important that we treat the mind body connection and not just the physical symptoms if we want to see lasting results with our healing. When we address the spiritual issue that is causing our ailments or issues, we are more likely to heal faster and fully.
