What is a Mindset Coach?

Changing your mindset, rewiring your brain, neuroplasticity can all be very difficult to explain to people. When I tell people that I'm a Mindset Coach I get lots of weird looks or questions. I also teach meditation and yoga, so I understand that a lot of people will only see through their ego, or own level of perception, and think the idea of saying you’re someone who works with the spiritual aspect of healing is arrogant, and I can certainly see where that idea stems from. We like to think of people who heal as theological figures or Doctors, surely not just anybody can deal with spirit, right? But really, it’s more arrogant to think that people can’t heal their own spirit with some coaching. We ALL have the capacity to heal ourselves. Every single one of us on this planet. That is our birth right, and we know that innately. Our body is a vessel that works with the Universe or Divine to heal anything and everything we want it to. So why can't just anybody work to help heal spiritual issues if they know how?

So if we can heal ourselves, why do you need a coach?

I’ve been working in this medium for awhile now, and I see a lot of vague or misguided explanations about how it works. I think this is because everyone has their own interpretation of what they do and how they define energy healing, psychosynthesis, psychospiritual, transpersonal healing, etc, and that’s fine. You will find the explanation that resonates with you, but today I want to break it down and put it simply and easy to understand.

So, in my opinion,  as a Mindset Coach, it can be a lot like a personal trainer. Look, we all know how to work out, we can easily go to the gym and get to lifting weights or running on the treadmill to try and reach our desired goals. But we hire personal trainers because they know the human body, they are able to ask you questions about your lifestyle and habits and then come up with a custom workout routine to help you get the results you want faster. This is similar to what a Mindset Coach does.  It is about taking the momentum that you have (where you are currently), the direction you’re already heading in (the path you're heading down), and changing it slightly so that your future changes dramatically (the results you want, an optimal happy life). When you don’t seek out someone who is more knowledgeable or who has more experience, for help then you will continue to get the results you’ve always gotten. Can you research and do the work on your own? Absolutely, I’ve already said that we have the ability to heal ourselves. Which brings me to my next point.

Mindset Coaches see the symptoms you don’t.

A well trained Mindset Coach can see the underlying cause before things change into symptoms. We know what questions to ask, and how to feel your energy to see where you hold blockages. We listen to you during a session and can hear the things that you’re holding on to that are causing you issues.

Let me use an example, let’s say that you are out running, and you fall and scrape your knee. That is the result, not the cause, the cause was that you tripped and fell.  This is the same if you look at any issue someone is experiencing. When we look a bit deeper into these problems or issues, there is always a cause that is not seen and is not being addressed.

Let’s use another example. One of the things I hear people complain about the most is relationships. People often complain that the start of the relationship is great, wonderful, magical and like most beginnings, a honeymoon phase. However, at some point, they feel the other person pulls away, acts weird, and the relationship deteriorates. A very common response is “I don’t know why this keeps happening to me. Everyone fucks me over.”

Well, let’s look at that last sentence. “everyone fucks me over.” - that’s like comparing the scrape on your knee instead of whatever caused you to trip.

Looking at the Underlying Cause

Mindset Coaches will look at all of the issues from an energy and spiritual perspective – the underlying cause.

Your energy might be saying, “I’m personable, friendly and gosh darn it people like me… but only to a certain point. After that, I get screwed over… cause If you knew the real me you’d see that I’m not as good as I say I am.”

If that’s the story you are telling yourself, even subconsciously, (hint: cause that is where our higher self and all our beliefs are stored)  then people are going to pick that up, resonate with it, and start to play it out. You are creating it even though it looks like the other person did it. Follow what I’m saying?

And this is what Mindset Coaching is all about. Rather than looking at what happened and the effects, it looks at the cause inside you. When you recognize that root cause, then you can change it.

When you use a Mindset Coach to help you manage these issues, the goal is to make slight, yet powerful changes. Like a personal trainer does at the gym. Let’s say that when you release an old limiting belief, it changes your life just ever so slightly, like 2 degrees. You leave the session feeling relaxed and calm, but other than that not much else is different. But you’ve created a new momentum in a new direction, with just your thoughts, so now your life will take you in a different direction. Think of it like The Butterfly Effect: This effect grants the power to cause a hurricane in China to a butterfly flapping its wings in New Mexico. It may take a very long time, but the connection is real. If the butterfly had not flapped its wings at just the right point in space/time, the hurricane would not have happened.

So using a Mindset Coach, like a personal trainer, is where you start seeing big changes. Because even if you change course by just 2 degrees, at first you’re close to the old path you were on, but after a month or more, your old path will seem further and further away from you as you continue going along your new direction.

The more you go down your new path, the farther you are from your old path and closer to your goal.

The Goal is Not About Immediate Change

Just like you don’t hit the gym ONE day and drop 30 lbs and have abs. Nope. I mean, we all wish, right, but that’s not how it works. But that’s always why it’s so great! If we all got immediate results, we wouldn’t appreciate them, and we wouldn’t really change. You want to look at where you are currently, recognize the underlying issue, and then see the miracles that unfold as you get to witness the transformation that you make after healing has taken place.

So this is my take on what I do as a Mindset Coach, and how one can help you profoundly with the changes you want to make in your life. I hope that you found something that resonated with you. If you would like to know more or book a session with me, please reach out. I'd be happy to help!
